I am so happy you are here! My name is Traci Goodwin, the owner of Fig and South Lane Boutique! If I were to say this journey of owning four boutiques has been easy, I would be lying to you, but luckily I have been blessed with more ups than downs over the years.
I started my career off as a photographer and soon realized I had a passion for styling my clients and providing them with fashion tips. With that in mind, in 2014 I decided to purchase my first boutique and named it Sassy Girl Boutique, which I loved dearly. Unfortunately, my store was hit by a tornado and was destroyed. After this disaster, I was left with a decision to keep doing photography or pursue the dream of owning a boutique. Through the support of my community and many sleepless nights I finally decided I wanted to rebrand, rebuild, and reopen in a new location with a new name. With no new name in mind, my friend Melinda and I were taking a girls day and talked about the new journey I was about to embark on. If you know me, you know I am a very personal and intimate person with my faith. That day we were talking about God and how it took a lot of faith to be reopening after such a tragedy.
Melinda said “Too bad you can’t name it ‘Faith in God’
I said “Faith in God?”
She responded with “ Yes “FIG”, “Faith in God”
After the conversation, everything seemed to fall into place. In 2017, my first storefront for Fig opened in a small town called Petal, MS. Two years passed, and I was blessed with the opportunity to expand Fig in the college town Hattiesburg, MS. I was grateful for how successful Fig became over the years, so I decided to open up our sister store, South Lane, to provide Hattiesburg a larger variety of fashion for our customers.
With all this being said, my dreams would not have been possible without the love and support from my community, family, friends, and sweet employees!
